Westmister Shotokan Karate Club (est.1988) – 25 YEARS Anniversary

Westminster SKC celebrates the 25th anniversary with 22 medals.

In the celebration of the 25th anniversary Westminster Shotokan Karate Club achieved the best participation ever competing at the JKA National Championships : 11 Gold medals, 6 Silver medals and 5 Bronze medals.

This recent achievements rank the club as one of the most successful karate clubs in England.
These fantastic achievements of the Westminster SKC Team was the culmination of a long year of hard training.

At a senior level Westminster SKC achieved gold medals in several categories: Kumite Male Division A, Kumite Male Division B, Mixed Team Kata, Mixed Team Kumite and Male Kata (16 to 20 yrs old).

In the Division A Male kumite Jovan Masalunga for the fourth time in succession became the senior individual kumite National Champion. He was also part of the winning kata team and the winning Kumite team.

Both Westminster senior kumite teams managed to reach the final, where they faced each other.

The senior mixed kata team won gold medal with a performance of Kanku Sho.

Mohammed Salhi won an incredible 4 gold medals during this event, the B division individual kumite title, the senior kata individual title, and was a member of the teams that were also victorious in kata and kumite.
He was also awarded best Senior National Karate Competitor.

Harry Theron achieved Bronze in the senior individual kata and Silver in the Division B kumite. He was also part of the kumite team that contested the final taking Silver. Great day for him.

Gellert Schneider took joint 3rd place in the B division kumite event and also won gold with the kata team. He was also part of the team that contested the final in team kumite.

And last but not the least a mention for the strong spirit demonstrated by the new Westminster Senior girls both achiving medals in the team kumite.– Jana Nehrizova (Gold), and Santolina Savannet (Silver)

Westminster juniors were also on fire during the day:
Stanley Forbes, Luke Ashley, Endri Krasniqui, Anna Forbes and Eric Ortiz all winning Gold medals.

Well done to Aymeric Riviere who was joint 3rd in junior intermediate kata.
